SARA ROSE BOKSMATI
Extended Biography:
Sara Rose Boksmati is a prolific creator who uses music and creativity to bring people around her together. The Australian singer-songwriter and instrumentalist began classical piano training from the age of five and her musical training in classical piano and intensive dance training at Terry Simpson Studios formed her foundation of tenacity and discipline shaping the development of her musical skills; a soulful combination of voice, piano, and guitar demonstrated through her evocative original pieces, and expressive interpretation of existing classics, covering genres of soul and jazz, and exploring the limitlessness of improvisation in her playing and compositions.

Sara’s passion for classical piano beyond her most recent AMEB grade 7 examination in 2020, fostered her experience as a piano teacher in 2023, and her enthusiasm for life has brought her countless experiences in the world of performing arts. Her past roles in musicals range from being a chorus member as a child, a lead as a teenager, and now, a music director as a young adult, music directing AYT’s Junior Musical, ‘Dot and the Kangaroo', and securing her role as MD and performer in Adelaide’s 2025 Fringe Festival. Her roles in countless jazz bands throughout high school, featuring her as a vocalist and pianist, brought her the title of being a ‘Super Band Member’ in the 2024 Generation’s in Jazz Festival, and her jazz choir two ‘first place’ titles amongst their divisions. Sara’s involvement in the Festival Theatre’s 2024 Class of Cabaret Program enabled her seasonal employment as a vocal entertainer via the North Adelaide Precinct in 2024, the Kent Hotel this 2025, Leigh Street Luggage, and her tranquil devotion to a musical lifestyle propelled her decision to study jazz performance at tertiary level, via the Adelaide Conservatorium.

So far in her study, Sara has worked with American Jazz Singer-Songwriter, and NAACP Image Award Winner (2024), Jazzmeia Horn, Australian Bassist, Composer, and Grammy Award Winner (2024), Linda May Han Oh, and Australian jazz vocalist and composers, Michelle Nicolle, and Kristen Berardi, propelling her growing initiative and passion to immerse herself in the Adelaide music scene. In addition to these, Sara is on her way to writing her debut album to be released on streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music, she is self-producing an all-original cabaret show for the 2026 Fringe season titled, ‘The Secret Life of a Type 1 Diabetic’, and in November 2025, she performed a TEDx Talk in Victor Harbour.
These projects embody Sara’s passion and enthusiasm towards using her stage and unique craft to make a mark in society; as a type 1 diabetic of 7 years, Sara aims to inspire others without a voice, to uplift those who feel consumed by their disease, and to establish the universality of struggle that no one talks about, reaching a vast range of social demographics through her creative and musical writing. Sara’s work is shaped to intrigue audiences who are willing to listen and learn about what they can’t see directly in front of them, and to give power to those who feel dominated by the noise of the world. Sara aims to produce music that harnesses a blend of her favourite genres – jazz, soul, pop, and R&B – to make her mark in the music and advocacy world.
